The work A Royal Navy Frigate And Other Shipping In A Heavy Swell Off The Eddystone Lighthouse; And Shipping In A Stiff Breeze (Illustrated) by Richard Ball Spencer was sold in the Maritime Art auction at Christies in London in June 2014. The price achieved of GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,655.09) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Admittedly, works by Richard Ball Spencer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Florentine in the Channel off Dover in May 2001 with an auction result of GBP 10,575.00 (€ 17,729.23).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.125,00 (€ 2.655,09) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben worden.
