The work A Royal Navy three-decker and frigate passing in the Channel by Richard Ball Spencer was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2010. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,240.62). Admittedly, works by Richard Ball Spencer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Florentine in the Channel off Dover in May 2001 with an auction result of GBP 10,575.00 (€ 17,729.23).

Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen

Die Arbeit A Royal Navy three-decker and frigate passing in the Channel von Richard Ball Spencer kam im November 2010 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 1.800,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.240,62) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Richard Ball Spencer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Florentine in the Channel off Dover im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.575,00 (€ 17.729,23).
