Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The storm after the Battle of Trafalgar, 21st October 1805 by Richard Ball Spencer was sold in the The Marine Sale auction at Bonhams in London in April 2021. The price achieved of GBP 3,187.50 (€ 3,666.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Admittedly, works by Richard Ball Spencer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Florentine in the Channel off Dover in May 2001 with an auction result of GBP 10,575.00 (€ 17,729.23).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The storm after the Battle of Trafalgar, 21st October 1805 von Richard Ball Spencer wurde im April 2021 in der Auktion The Marine Sale bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.187,50 (€ 3.666,55) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Richard Ball Spencer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Florentine in the Channel off Dover im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.575,00 (€ 17.729,23).
