Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Washington Allston in Rome by R. B. Kitaj was sold in the Modern British and Irish Art auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in July this year. It achieved a price of GBP 7,040.00 (€ 8,213.55), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 17%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by R. B. Kitaj achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Waiting in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 317,000.00 (€ 449,399.53).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Washington Allston in Rome von R. B. Kitaj wurde im Juli diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 7.040,00 (€ 8.213,55) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 17%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von R. B. Kitaj erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Waiting im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 317.000,00 (€ 449.399,53).
