Auction result well in line with expectations
The work An interior with an elderly couple by a fireplace, table and spinning wheel, a bedstead behind by Quiringh van Brekelenkam was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 70,000.00 – 100,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 75,000.00 (€ 64,394.26) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Quiringh van Brekelenkam have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Lacemaker's School in January last year with an auction result of USD 453,600.00 (€ 404,566.54).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit An interior with an elderly couple by a fireplace, table and spinning wheel, a bedstead behind von Quiringh van Brekelenkam kam im Oktober 2020 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 70.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 75.000,00 (€ 64.394,26) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Quiringh van Brekelenkam auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Lacemaker's School im Januar letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 453.600,00 (€ 404.566,54).
