The price achieved of USD 56,250.00 (€ 50,084.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Admittedly, works by Quiringh van Brekelenkam have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Lacemaker's School in January last year with an auction result of USD 453,600.00 (€ 404,566.54).
