Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work An Interior Scene With An Artist And His Family by Quiringh van Brekelenkam was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in February 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 22,500.00 (€ 18,426.01). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Quiringh van Brekelenkam achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Lacemaker's School in January last year with an auction result of USD 453,600.00 (€ 404,566.54).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit An Interior Scene With An Artist And His Family von Quiringh van Brekelenkam im Februar 2018 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 22.500,00 (€ 18.426,01) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Quiringh van Brekelenkam erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Lacemaker's School im Januar letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 453.600,00 (€ 404.566,54).
