Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Seclusion in Mountain Village by Qian Gu was sold in the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 1,000,000.00 – 2,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 1,197,000.00 (€ 133,149.67) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Qian Gu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Landscape, which sold at auction in September 2020 for USD 500,000.00 (€ 426,693.98).
