In April 2016 POLY in Hong Kong held the auction Chinese and Asian Modern and Contemporary Art, which included the work Consumer Icons Iv by Qi Zhilong. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 259,600.00 (€ 29,247.83), 73% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Qi Zhilong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Chinese Girl Series No.1 in April 2008 with an auction result of HKD 3,847,500.00 (€ 317,082.64).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 73 % übertroffen
Im April 2016 führte POLY in Hong Kong die Auktion Chinese and Asian Modern and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Consumer Icons Iv von Qi Zhilong zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 259.600,00 (€ 29.247,83) und damit 73% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Qi Zhilong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Chinese Girl Series No.1 im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.847.500,00 (€ 317.082,64).
