Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Putu Sutawijaya achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2008. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings auction, the work Perjuangan (Struggle) sold for HKD 225,000.00 (€ 22,886.77) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 100,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Putu Sutawijaya - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Candi Brahu, which sold at auction in May 2012 for HKD 740,000.00 (€ 77,088.32).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Putu Sutawijaya erzielte im Oktober 2008 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings wurde die Arbeit Perjuangan (Struggle) für HKD 225.000,00 (€ 22.886,77) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 100.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Putu Sutawijaya mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Candi Brahu beobachtet, die im Mai 2012 für HKD 740.000,00 (€ 77.088,32) versteigert wurde.
