It achieved a price of HKD 225,000.00 (€ 22,886.77), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 50%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Putu Sutawijaya - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Candi Brahu, which sold at auction in May 2012 for HKD 740,000.00 (€ 77,088.32).

Die Arbeit Bertahan Demi Kehidupan (Holding On For Life) von Putu Sutawijaya wurde im Oktober 2008 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 225.000,00 (€ 22.886,77) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 50%. Für andere Arbeiten von Putu Sutawijaya mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Candi Brahu beobachtet, die im Mai 2012 für HKD 740.000,00 (€ 77.088,32) versteigert wurde.
