Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2011 Christies in Milan held the auction Old Master Pictures, which included the work Il Salvatore by Prospero Fontana. The price achieved of EUR 16,900.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Prospero Fontana have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Holy Family With Saints John The Baptist And Catherine in December 2013 with an auction result of GBP 80,500.00 (€ 96,829.02).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2011 führte Christies in Mailand die Auktion Old Master Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Il Salvatore von Prospero Fontana zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 16.900,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Prospero Fontana auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Holy Family With Saints John The Baptist And Catherine im Dezember 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 80.500,00 (€ 96.829,02).
