Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Adoration Of The Shepherds; Adoration Of The Magi by Prospero Fontana was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in June 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 32,500.00 (€ 28,937.76) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Prospero Fontana - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Holy Family With Saints John The Baptist And Catherine, which sold at auction in December 2013 for GBP 80,500.00 (€ 96,829.02).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Adoration Of The Shepherds; Adoration Of The Magi von Prospero Fontana kam im Juni 2020 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 28.937,76) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Prospero Fontana mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Holy Family With Saints John The Baptist And Catherine beobachtet, die im Dezember 2013 für GBP 80.500,00 (€ 96.829,02) versteigert wurde.
