Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction Indian Art, which included this untitled work by Prosanto Roy. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,565.19) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Prosanto Roy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Princess of Fairyland), which sold at auction in September 2020 for USD 25,000.00 (€ 21,334.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Indian Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Prosanto Roy zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 5.565,19) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Prosanto Roy mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Princess of Fairyland) beobachtet, die im September 2020 für USD 25.000,00 (€ 21.334,70) versteigert wurde.
