Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2014 a collector was able to acquire this work without title by Prosanto Roy for USD 11,875.00 (€ 8,619.44). This price was achieved in the auction Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Prosanto Roy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Princess of Fairyland), which sold at auction in September 2020 for USD 25,000.00 (€ 21,334.70).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2014 konnte ein Sammler diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Prosanto Roy für USD 11.875,00 (€ 8.619,44) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Prosanto Roy mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Princess of Fairyland) beobachtet, die im September 2020 für USD 25.000,00 (€ 21.334,70) versteigert wurde.
