Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2012 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Caricature of Glyn Warren Philpot by Powys Evans. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 625.00 (€ 788.28) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Powys Evans - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Winston Churchill, which sold at auction in May 2020 for GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,052.80).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Caricature of Glyn Warren Philpot von Powys Evans zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 625,00 (€ 788,28) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Powys Evans mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Winston Churchill beobachtet, die im Mai 2020 für GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.052,80) versteigert wurde.
