Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Pietro Paolini could be acquired at Christies in New York in January this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Remastered: Old Masters from the Collection of J.E. Safra - Selling Without Reserve auction, the work Lute players and an angel changed hands for USD 403,200.00 (€ 371,339.10) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 500,000.00 – 700,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pietro Paolini - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Cardsharps, which sold at auction in April 2017 for USD 1,147,500.00 (€ 1,053,235.43).
