Auction result well in line with expectations
The work An Elderly Man Playing The Guitar With A Woman And A Putto In Attendance by Pietro Paolini was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 325,000.00 (€ 270,157.94) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pietro Paolini - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Cardsharps, which sold at auction in April 2017 for USD 1,147,500.00 (€ 1,053,235.43).
