Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Portrait Of A Man Writing By Candlelight by Pietro Paolini was sold in the Master Paintings Evening Sale auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2020. The price achieved of USD 500,000.00 (€ 450,734.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pietro Paolini - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Cardsharps, which sold at auction in April 2017 for USD 1,147,500.00 (€ 1,053,235.43).
