Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2013 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale, which included the work The Bay Of Naples, A View Of Mergellina With Figures Revelling And Eating by Pietro Fabris. The price achieved of GBP 242,500.00 (€ 291,689.89) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pietro Fabris - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Carnival In Naples In 1778, With The 'Cavalcata Turca' Parading Through The Largo Di Palazzo, which sold at auction in December 2013 for GBP 782,500.00 (€ 941,226.14).
