Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Pietro Fabris could be acquired at Sothebys in London in July 2013 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale auction, the work Paestum, A View From The West With The Temples Of Poseidon And Ceres changed hands for GBP 92,500.00 (€ 105,697.37) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Admittedly, works by Pietro Fabris have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Carnival In Naples In 1778, With The 'Cavalcata Turca' Parading Through The Largo Di Palazzo in December 2013 with an auction result of GBP 782,500.00 (€ 941,226.14).
