Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2013 a collector was able to acquire the work Naples, A View Of Mergellina And The Palazzo Donn'Anna Beyond, With Fishermen Drawing Their Catch, Peasants Grilling Fish And Other Figures Conversing by Pietro Fabris for GBP 242,500.00 (€ 277,098.52). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 250,000.00 – 350,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pietro Fabris - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Carnival In Naples In 1778, With The 'Cavalcata Turca' Parading Through The Largo Di Palazzo, which sold at auction in December 2013 for GBP 782,500.00 (€ 941,226.14).
