Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Design For An Elaborate Ceiling Decoration by Pietro Buonaccorsi for USD 10,625.00 (€ 9,578.11). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Drawings at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pietro Buonaccorsi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Holy Family With The Infant Saint John The Baptist in January 2011 with an auction result of USD 2,098,500.00 (€ 1,530,076.56).
