Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master Paintings Sale, which included the work An Extensive River Landscape With The Fall Of Icarus by Peeter Gijsels. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 14,342.16) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peeter Gijsels achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A town with figures working in bleaching fields in the foreground in May 2007 with an auction result of EUR 216,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master Paintings Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit An Extensive River Landscape With The Fall Of Icarus von Peeter Gijsels zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 11.250,00 (€ 14.342,16) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peeter Gijsels erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A town with figures working in bleaching fields in the foreground im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 216.000,00.
