Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April 2006 Christies in London held the auction Old Master Pictures, which included the work A village scene with peasants strolling by a river bank by Peeter Gijsels. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 14,400.00 (€ 20,783.27), 20% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peeter Gijsels achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A town with figures working in bleaching fields in the foreground in May 2007 with an auction result of EUR 216,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A village scene with peasants strolling by a river bank von Peeter Gijsels zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 14.400,00 (€ 20.783,27) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peeter Gijsels erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A town with figures working in bleaching fields in the foreground im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 216.000,00.
