Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Roses, carnations, a tulip and other flowers in a sculpted urn with a bird's nest on a marble ledge with a beetle and a butterfly by Pieter Faes was sold in the Important Old Master Pictures Day Sale auction at Christies in London in December 2006. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 35,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 38,400.00 (€ 56,990.41). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pieter Faes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still Life of roses, peonies, tulips, narcissus, and other flowers in a terracotta vase, with grapes and a peach, which sold at auction in May last year for USD 163,800.00 (€ 152,641.88).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Roses, carnations, a tulip and other flowers in a sculpted urn with a bird's nest on a marble ledge with a beetle and a butterfly von Pieter Faes wurde im Dezember 2006 in der Auktion Important Old Master Pictures Day Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 35.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 38.400,00 (€ 56.990,41) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Pieter Faes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Still Life of roses, peonies, tulips, narcissus, and other flowers in a terracotta vase, with grapes and a peach beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für USD 163.800,00 (€ 152.641,88) versteigert wurde.
