Auction result misses estimated price range

In the Old Masters & British Paintings auction, the work A river landscape with an angler on a shore, rowing boats, two men observing from a bridge, a man on horseback and a village beyond changed hands for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,432.47) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Pieter de Neyn have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A dune landscape with two riders and other travelers on a country road in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 30,000.00 (€ 25,757.71).
