Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Tulips, irises, pink and white roses, narcissi, primroses and other flowers in a stone vase with butterflies, a caterpillar, a snail and a stag beetle on a ledge by Peter Binoit was sold in the Important Old Master Pictures auction at Christies in London in July 2005. The price achieved of GBP 232,000.00 (€ 336,513.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Peter Binoit - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tulips, roses, a cornflower, lily of the valley, primroses, a snowdrop and other flowers in a roemer, with a snail, two beetles, a ladybird and a caterpillar on a ledge; and An iris, narcissi, and other flowers in a roemer, with a butterfly and other, which sold at auction in December 2000 for GBP 575,750.00 (€ 917,164.60)
