Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Peter Binoit could be acquired at Sothebys in London in July 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Masters Evening Sale auction, the work Still Life Of Flowers In An Earthenware Vase On A Ledge changed hands for GBP 245,000.00 (€ 291,113.00) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Peter Binoit - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tulips, roses, a cornflower, lily of the valley, primroses, a snowdrop and other flowers in a roemer, with a snail, two beetles, a ladybird and a caterpillar on a ledge; and An iris, narcissi, and other flowers in a roemer, with a butterfly and other, which sold at auction in December 2000 for GBP 575,750.00 (€ 917,164.60)
