This artwork by Pierre Louis Bouvier achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in December 2020. In the Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection auction, the work Portrait of a gentleman sold for GBP 5,040.00 (€ 5,630.13) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Pierre Louis Bouvier have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of A Lady, Half Length, Holding An Artist'S Portfolio, Seated At A Table With A Chest Of Drawing Paraphernalia in January 2016 with an auction result of USD 56,250.00 (€ 51,929.47).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Pierre Louis Bouvier erzielte im Dezember 2020 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection wurde die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman für GBP 5.040,00 (€ 5.630,13) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pierre Louis Bouvier auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady, Half Length, Holding An Artist'S Portfolio, Seated At A Table With A Chest Of Drawing Paraphernalia im Januar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 56.250,00 (€ 51.929,47).
