In July 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction The Pohl-Ströher Collection of Portrait Miniatures Part II, which included the work Portrait Of A Gentleman by Pierre Louis Bouvier. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,489.67), 67% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Pierre Louis Bouvier have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of A Lady, Half Length, Holding An Artist'S Portfolio, Seated At A Table With A Chest Of Drawing Paraphernalia in January 2016 with an auction result of USD 56,250.00 (€ 51,929.47).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 67 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Pohl-Ströher Collection of Portrait Miniatures Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of A Gentleman von Pierre Louis Bouvier zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 5.000,00 (€ 5.489,67) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pierre Louis Bouvier auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady, Half Length, Holding An Artist'S Portfolio, Seated At A Table With A Chest Of Drawing Paraphernalia im Januar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 56.250,00 (€ 51.929,47).
