In January 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work Ixia Tachée (Ixia Maculata) by Pierre-Joseph Redouté. The »bidding war« ended at USD 13,750.00 (€ 12,395.20), 72% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pierre-Joseph Redouté achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An Elaborate Still Life Of Flowers In A Glass Vase Resting On An Alabaster Pedestal With A Bird Nest And A Melon Below in January 2007 with an auction result of USD 2,504,000.00 (€ 1,926,450.22).

Im Januar 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ixia Tachée (Ixia Maculata) von Pierre-Joseph Redouté zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 13.750,00 (€ 12.395,20) und damit 72% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pierre-Joseph Redouté erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An Elaborate Still Life Of Flowers In A Glass Vase Resting On An Alabaster Pedestal With A Bird Nest And A Melon Below im Januar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.504.000,00 (€ 1.926.450,22).
