This artwork by Pierre-Joseph Redouté achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in June 2020. In the Old Masters auction, the work Koempferia Galanga (Kempférie Galanga) sold for USD 11,875.00 (€ 10,573.41) - well above the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pierre-Joseph Redouté achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An Elaborate Still Life Of Flowers In A Glass Vase Resting On An Alabaster Pedestal With A Bird Nest And A Melon Below in January 2007 with an auction result of USD 2,504,000.00 (€ 1,926,450.22).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Pierre-Joseph Redouté erzielte im Juni 2020 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Masters wurde die Arbeit Koempferia Galanga (Kempférie Galanga) für USD 11.875,00 (€ 10.573,41) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pierre-Joseph Redouté erzielen.
