Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2020 Sothebys in Paris held the auction Oeuvres sur Papier, which included the work Scène De Bataille Antique by Pierre-Jean David d'Angers. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 5,250.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pierre-Jean David d'Angers achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Buste En Marbre Blanc En Hermès Représentant Marie-Joseph-Gilbert Du Motier, Marquis De La Fayette (1757-1834) in June 2010 with an auction result of EUR 1,521,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2020 führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Oeuvres sur Papier durch, in der auch die Arbeit Scène De Bataille Antique von Pierre-Jean David d'Angers zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 5.250,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pierre-Jean David d'Angers erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Buste En Marbre Blanc En Hermès Représentant Marie-Joseph-Gilbert Du Motier, Marquis De La Fayette (1757-1834) im Juni 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 1.521.000,00.
