Sold at the lower estimate price
In April 2019 Christies in New York held the auction European Art, which included the work La glissade by Edouard Frère. The result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,927.77) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edouard Frère - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Feeding the children, which sold at auction in May 2002 for GBP 15,275.00 (€ 23,920.86).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im April 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit La glissade von Edouard Frère zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.927,77) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Edouard Frère mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Feeding the children beobachtet, die im Mai 2002 für GBP 15.275,00 (€ 23.920,86) versteigert wurde.
