This artwork by Pierre Dupuis achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2010. In the Old Masters and 19th Century Art auction, the work A hare, a jay, a partridge, a duck and other birds, all on a draped marble ledge sold for EUR 15,000.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pierre Dupuis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Branches Of Plums Tied With A Ribbon And Suspended From A Nail, With Lilies And Roses In A Blue And White Porcelain Vase, On A Sculpted Ledge With Pomegranates And Grapes in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 692,500.00 (€ 940,990.04).
