Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master and 19th Century European Paintings and Drawings, including Property from the Estate of Giancarlo Baroni, which included the work The Judgement Of Paris In The Manner Of The Antique by Piat Joseph Sauvage. The price achieved of USD 6,875.00 (€ 5,256.52) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Piat Joseph Sauvage achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Venus And Cupid in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 93,750.00 (€ 80,334.19).

Im Februar 2013 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master and 19th Century European Paintings and Drawings, including Property from the Estate of Giancarlo Baroni durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Judgement Of Paris In The Manner Of The Antique von Piat Joseph Sauvage zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.875,00 (€ 5.256,52) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Piat Joseph Sauvage erzielen.
