Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Putti Playing With A Garland Of Flowers: A Trompe-L'Oeil Of A Bronze Bas-Relief by Piat Joseph Sauvage was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in June 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 18,750.00 (€ 13,696.13). Admittedly, works by Piat Joseph Sauvage have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Venus And Cupid in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 93,750.00 (€ 80,334.19).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Putti Playing With A Garland Of Flowers: A Trompe-L'Oeil Of A Bronze Bas-Relief von Piat Joseph Sauvage im Juni 2014 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 18.750,00 (€ 13.696,13) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Piat Joseph Sauvage auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Venus And Cupid im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 93.750,00 (€ 80.334,19).
