Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Point X by Phillip King for GBP 22,500.00 (€ 23,631.55). This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century British Art at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Phillip King have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Through in November 2013 with an auction result of GBP 92,500.00 (€ 111,311.37).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Point X von Phillip King für GBP 22.500,00 (€ 23.631,55) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 20th Century British Art bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Phillip King auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Through im November 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 92.500,00 (€ 111.311,37).
