This artwork by Philippe Jacques de Loutherbourg achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in July 2011. In the Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale auction, the work A Sea Port In The Levant, Morning sold for GBP 25,000.00 (€ 28,691.24) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Philippe Jacques de Loutherbourg have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A wooded landscape with two monkeys eating grapes in October 2014 with an auction result of GBP 116,500.00 (€ 148,753.67).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Philippe Jacques de Loutherbourg erzielte im Juli 2011 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale wurde die Arbeit A Sea Port In The Levant, Morning für GBP 25.000,00 (€ 28.691,24) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Philippe Jacques de Loutherbourg auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A wooded landscape with two monkeys eating grapes im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 116.500,00 (€ 148.753,67).
