Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2015 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings, which included the work A view of a castle with a herdsman, his sheep, goats and a donkey by Philippe Jacques de Loutherbourg. It changed hands for a price of GBP 18,750.00 (€ 25,748.07) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Philippe Jacques de Loutherbourg have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A wooded landscape with two monkeys eating grapes in October 2014 with an auction result of GBP 116,500.00 (€ 148,753.67).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2015 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master & British Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A view of a castle with a herdsman, his sheep, goats and a donkey von Philippe Jacques de Loutherbourg zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 18.750,00 (€ 25.748,07) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Philippe Jacques de Loutherbourg auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A wooded landscape with two monkeys eating grapes im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 116.500,00 (€ 148.753,67).
