Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Red currant by Philip von Schantz was auctioned at Bukowski in Stockholm in June 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of SEK 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for SEK 55,000.00 (€ 5,259.55). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philip von Schantz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work "Rensåpa" (Still life with blue berries) in April 2012 with an auction result of SEK 950,000.00 (€ 106,712.53).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Red currant von Philip von Schantz im Juni 2020 bei Bukowski in Stockholm versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von SEK 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für SEK 55.000,00 (€ 5.259,55) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Philip von Schantz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit "Rensåpa" (Still life with blue berries) im April 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von SEK 950.000,00 (€ 106.712,53).
