In July 2012 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale, which included the work An allegory of Taste: A man, bust-length, in a black jacket and red beret, holding a pasglas by Petrus Staverenus. The result of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 31,843.28) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Admittedly, works by Petrus Staverenus have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Personification of the five senses: Sight: A young woman pointing; Hearing: A man counting coins; Smell: A laughing man smoking a pipe; Taste: A laughing man with an upturned glass; and Touch: A man operating on another man in July 2019 with an auction result of GBP 175,000.00 (€ 192,138.36).

Im Juli 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit An allegory of Taste: A man, bust-length, in a black jacket and red beret, holding a pasglas von Petrus Staverenus zur Versteigerung kam.
