Auction result well in line with expectations

In May 2001 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction OLD MASTER PICTURES, which included the work A boy standing by a table laden with fish by Petrus Staverenus. The price achieved of NLG 16,450.00 (€ 7,924.41) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as NLG 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Petrus Staverenus achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Personification of the five senses: Sight: A young woman pointing; Hearing: A man counting coins; Smell: A laughing man smoking a pipe; Taste: A laughing man with an upturned glass; and Touch: A man operating on another man in July 2019 with an auction result of GBP 175,000.00 (€ 192,138.36).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im Mai 2001 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion OLD MASTER PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit A boy standing by a table laden with fish von Petrus Staverenus zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von NLG 16.450,00 (€ 7.924,41) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit NLG 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Petrus Staverenus erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Personification of the five senses: Sight: A young woman pointing; Hearing: A man counting coins; Smell: A laughing man smoking a pipe; Taste: A laughing man with an upturned glass; and Touch: A man operating on another man im Juli 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 175.000,00 (€ 192.138,36).
