Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Russian Art from a Private Collection, which included the work Free Fall by Pyotr Belenok. The price achieved of GBP 17,640.00 (€ 21,040.82) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pyotr Belenok - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Moon Landscape, which sold at auction in March 2008 for GBP 54,500.00 (€ 68,465.52).
