Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Peter Wtewael could be acquired at Christies in London in December 2017 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Masters including Old Master & British Drawings and Watercolours auction, the work An Allegory Of Love changed hands for GBP 13,750.00 (€ 15,473.61) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Peter Wtewael have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Soldiers playing cards by candlelight in December 2004 with an auction result of GBP 77,675.00 (€ 109,931.53).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Peter Wtewael konnte im Dezember 2017 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Masters including Old Master & British Drawings and Watercolours wechselte die Arbeit An Allegory Of Love für GBP 13.750,00 (€ 15.473,61) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Peter Wtewael auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Soldiers playing cards by candlelight im Dezember 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 77.675,00 (€ 109.931,53).
