In the Photographs Including Crossing America: Photographs from The Consolidated Freightways Collection, Part II auction, the work Building the Bay Bridge, 1935 sold for USD 5,250.00 (€ 4,046.87) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Peter Stackpole - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 2nd Marine Division, Saipan, 1944, which sold at auction in April 2019 for USD 9,375.00 (€ 8,369.79).
