This artwork by Peter Stackpole achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in December 2011. In the Photographs Including Crossing America: Photographs from The Consolidated Freightways Collection, Part II auction, the work Building the Bay Bridge, 1935 sold for USD 5,250.00 (€ 4,046.87) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Peter Stackpole - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 2nd Marine Division, Saipan, 1944, which sold at auction in April 2019 for USD 9,375.00 (€ 8,369.79).

In der Auktion Photographs Including Crossing America: Photographs from The Consolidated Freightways Collection, Part II wurde die Arbeit Building the Bay Bridge, 1935 für USD 5.250,00 (€ 4.046,87) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Peter Stackpole mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 2nd Marine Division, Saipan, 1944 beobachtet, die im April 2019 für USD 9.375,00 (€ 8.369,79) versteigert wurde.
