Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled, 1966 by Peter Phillips was sold in the Modern | British Art auction at Christies in London in November 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,605.13) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Phillips achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 141,800.00 (€ 199,936.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled, 1966 von Peter Phillips wurde im November 2019 in der Auktion Modern | British Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 5.625,00 (€ 6.605,13) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peter Phillips erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 141.800,00 (€ 199.936,22).
