Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Morning Gun by Peter Monamy was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2017. It changed hands for a price of GBP 47,500.00 (€ 53,454.29) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Peter Monamy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The flagship Royal Sovereign saluting at the Nore, which sold at auction in November 2010 for GBP 109,250.00 (€ 130,553.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Morning Gun von Peter Monamy kam im Dezember 2017 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 47.500,00 (€ 53.454,29) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Peter Monamy mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The flagship Royal Sovereign saluting at the Nore beobachtet, die im November 2010 für GBP 109.250,00 (€ 130.553,58) versteigert wurde.
