In May last year Christies in London held the auction The Collection of Sir Nicholas Goodison - British Art: Innovation and Craftsmanship, which included the work Untitled (Mexican) by Peter Lanyon. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 32,760.00 (€ 38,539.02), 31% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Lanyon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Orpheus in November 2018 with an auction result of GBP 1,268,750.00 (€ 1,431,111.45).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 31 % übertroffen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion The Collection of Sir Nicholas Goodison - British Art: Innovation and Craftsmanship durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Mexican) von Peter Lanyon zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 32.760,00 (€ 38.539,02) und damit 31% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peter Lanyon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Orpheus im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.268.750,00 (€ 1.431.111,45).
